The paper explores the concept of ‘protection of civilians’ and its related impact on the everyday experiences of those seeking safety. Using the case of ‘protection of civilian’s (POC) sites in South Sudan, the paper finds that the concept is marred with ambiguity, with wider implications on the POC sites residents. Finally, the paper provides insights on how ‘Everyday Protection’ can be used as a lens to widely understand the POC interventions in South Sudan.
